Child Custody & Visitation

Solving the Child Custody Puzzle

Every parent cares for and wants what is best for their children. Unfortunately, the anger and hurt feelings associated with divorce can make it very easy for parents to lose sight of that fact. When this happens the children are often used as pawns and the custodial parent often denies the noncustodial parent contact with the children. At the Law Offices of Kelly G Lambert III, P.C., we try to prevent children from being unnecessarily harmed in the divorce process by keeping our clients focused on the all-important goal of what's best for the children. We also fight to ensure that our clients acquire custody or reasonable visitation with their children.

If joint custody is not in the best interests of your children, you can count on our lawyers to fight for you, and them, in court. To discuss your child custody or visitation concerns with us — call or contact our firm online to schedule a free consultation.

Michigan's Child Custody Laws

Drawing from more than 20 years of experience in court, attorneys at the Law Offices of Kelly G Lambert III, P.C. use their knowledge of Michigan's Child Custody Act and the credibility they've established within the legal community itself to help our clients preserve and protect the relationships they have with their children.

How will custodybe decided in your case? If you and your spouse cannot come to an acceptable compromise. The answer will depend on how the judge weighs the 12 factors set forth in the Michigan statute. The last of those factors is "any other factor considered by the court to be relevant."

Each of the custody factors has been further interpreted by years of case law explaining how to apply each factor in a particular case.

Last, our firm also handles a number of other matters related to the issues of child custody and parenting time, including paternity issues, grandparent visitation, child support and post-divorce modifications of custody, visitation and support agreements due to substantial changes in the circumstances of the parties or relocation after divorce.
